William Derrick

Raised in Gitanyow, Mr. Derrick is a member of Wilps Gwaas Hlaam.

Following completion of high school in Terrace, William earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern British Columbia in 1998 as a part of that school’s first full graduating class.  After pursuing
employment and further academic opportunities in other parts of Canada, William returned to northwest BC a few years ago.

Mr. Derrick joined Gitxsan Child & Family Services in the fall of 2009 after various stints with the Gitxsan Chiefs Office; other aboriginal organizations; and multiple engagements in the banking industry. 

Having enjoyed his time at GCFSS so far, William looks forward to the continued success of the agency as it strives to deliver on its mandate.
